What is a TDS meter
A TDS meter is a small hand-held device used to indicate the Total Dissolved Solids in a solution, usually water. Since dissolved ionized solids such as salts and minerals increase the conductivity of a solution, a TDS meter measures the conductivity of the solution and estimates the TDS from that reading.
Why do you need a TDS meter?
The short answer is you don’t. A TDS meter does not tell you what may be lurking in your water, and while some dissolved solids are bad, many dissolved solids are beneficial. If you are unsure of what solids are in your water, then you may want to use a meter. But a better approach is to get your water tested using a test kit that will tell you exactly what is in your water – including what dissolved solids may be present in your water.
Will I find TDS in filtered water?
Our selective Claryum filtration process removes 66 harmful contaminants from water including some dissolved solids like lead. We grab the bad stuff and leave the healthy minerals like potassium, magnesium and calcium in your water. We do this because your body needs these minerals and because they make water taste better.
