Living the Brand

Here at Aquasana, we believe that clean water and a healthy environment are the most important components to healthy living and overall well-being. We pride ourselves on being a health and wellness company, so we recognize the importance of living our own brand internally.

But what does that actually mean, and what does it look like?

While working on a PowerPoint deck for an upcoming customer presentation, I noticed that the photos we were using felt stale and impersonal. There is an abundance of photos of people doing things like drinking water, being active outside, working out, etc., but who are they, and what is their story? Do they appear on other company websites (the answer is…yes!)? How can we set ourselves apart?

And then it hit me. We have a wonderfully diverse and health focused group of employees here in our office, so why not use them as our models in all of our marketing collateral and customer presentations? We have runners, yogis, martial artists, bike commuters, and general overall nutrition and fitness nuts. We market Aquasana as a health and wellness brand, and we could take this opportunity as a way to show that we live the brand as well. Employees doing what they do, capturing it on film, and having a story behind our customer facing photos.

It didn’t take long to convince those that needed convincing (ahem…those who would provide funding for such a project) that this would be a great way to not only promote and show a healthy culture from the inside out, but also to get everyone at Aquasana excited about living a healthier lifestyle.

Photo shoots were planned, photographers were hired, and we quickly set off to rebuild our photo assets, without having to rely on stock photos! Real Aquasana people, showing off their healthy lifestyles, for our real Aquasana customers. We don’t just talk about health and wellness. We live it, and can prove it.

Living the brand doesn’t stop at employee photo shoots though. We have a lot of things in the works to encourage healthier habits and improving health internally. Weekly newsletters, health contests, and open casting calls for future photo shoots are just some things we’re working on to build an even healthier Aquasana. We don’t just want to drink the clean filtered water (literally), we want to drink it figuratively as well.
