Milwaukee mayor urges residents to filter drinking water

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett suggested those living in homes built before 1951 either use a filter or run their water for three minutes before consuming. Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin, has half of state’s lead pipes, but only receives 15-20 percent of the state’s removal funds budget. Barrett has requested more funds to replace Wisconsin’s lead pipes, but meanwhile he’s been urging residents to use faucet filters.
