The AQ-4601 Aquasana under counter water filter, featuring NSF Certified Claryum™ three-stage filtration, is ultimate convenience — always available, healthy water, right from your tap.
Remove pollutants, maintain healthy minerals
Our unique twin cartridge, three-stage filtration system uses a combination of carbon filtration, ion exchange, and sub-micron filtration. Your tap water is forced under pressure over filtration material covering more than two million square feet of surface area. So it reduces over three times more contaminants than leading pitcher filter brands.
Cartridge A
Filters sediment and turbidity
Reduces microscopic particles
Improves taste
Greatly reduces odor
Filters chlorine
Chlorine is the most concentrated and competitive chemical in tap water
Cartridge B
Filters lead and mercury
Ion exchange reduces heavy metals
Maintains pH levels
Improves taste
Filters synthetic chemicals
Herbicides
Pesticides
Industrial solvents
.5-micron absolute filtration
Removes cysts
Your water becomes contaminated from a variety of sources throughout the process of collection, treatment and delivery. From groundwater contamination at the source to chemical contamination at the treatment facility to rust and lead contamination as the treated water travels through pipes to your home, the water you drink and bathe in can contain dangerous levels of harmful contamination. This continuing level of contamination makes filtering your water a critical component of maintaining your health. With the AQ-4601 Under Counter water filter, Aquasana Claryum™ filtration technology stands between you and the harmful contamination present in your water supply.
The result is truly healthy, great tasting water for drinking, cooking, and preparing beverages at the convenience of your family's kitchen faucet for 11¢ a gallon on Water for Life!
NSF Certified Aquasana Claryum™ filtration features three-stage technology to reduce pollutants and maintain healthy minerals to balance pH and ensure fresh, spring water flavor.
We reduce over 50 commonly occurring contaminants including:

Water under pressure means better filtration.
After devoting 18 months to redesigning and reformulating the company's filter cartridges, Aquasana has created its most powerful and best-performing filtration systems to-date. Unique in both design and functionality, the new Aquasana Claryum™ filtration technology features three distinct stages, including activated carbon, ion exchange and sub-micron filtration. Together, this unique combination forces water under pressure over more than two million square feet of surface area of contaminant-grabbing filtration material — the equivalent of almost 35 football fields or roughly seven blocks in New York City. In addition to reducing a comprehensive list of chemicals and contaminants, Claryum's™ patent-pending selective filtration technology reduces odor and improves the taste of tap water while also preserving its healthiest minerals such as calcium, potassium and magnesium for optimum hydration — which are vital for growth, development and overall health and wellness.

As an existing Aquasana customer, I jumped at their offer for the deluxe chrome UCWF system. Had just returned from a stay in California, discontinuing Deer Park home delivery about one year previous. We needed a NEW filtration system FAST, as the 2-Gal Brita tank wasn't effective enough for the "chlorinated river water" being delivered by the municipal water authority. It was causing the fridge to run on and on!
So I went ahead with the Premium Chrome Filter and it was shipped and arrived promptly. Going about the installation, I found the instructions too generic, using small un-captioned illustrations and lacking important details. For instance I could NOT figure out how to connect the hoses, or what wrench to use without breaking the plastic housing, only to find out via a support call that the tubes were press-in. This should have been clear in the user manual. The installation went smoothly with not a single leak on the first try! {thumbs up}
The California certification was a major plus, and we noticed a definite change in the texture of Aquasana water. First impression: the water was "smoother" and "not as wet or chrisp" as RO drinking water. After three months though, I cannot report anything adverse about the water taste of suitability. We (a male-female couple) drink as much of it as [we did] before with other filter systems.
As for usage, we go through a 3-Gal jug atop a floor standing cooler about every 2-1/2 day, filling it via the high-rise Aquasana spigot neck. Our system works very well with the filter, the 3-Gal jug and cooler. The smaller jug not only fits under the spigot, but is lighter to "lift and place" than the standard 5-Gal jugs.
With a somewhat reduced water pressure, it takes ~8 mins to fill a three gallon container which is slightly less than the published flow rate. However the water quality is.. so far, so good! Happy customer.

Comments about Aquasana Premium Under Counter Water Filter - Brushed Nickel:
We installed it in about 90 mins and have no leaks after a week. Water tastes far far better than unfiltered and also better than the pitcher we were using. Love that it came in other colors besides chrome. Finally, please read instructions asit does tell you that "you should anticipate residual flow of water" i.e. it drips after you turn it off. It has to vent the pressure and all the complaints about this are crazy as all systems like this have to vent. If it really bothers you, put a dish under it and put the collected water in the dog's bowl. No biggie. Unless something catastrphic happens with this filter, we r never changing to another brand again.

I just ordered my second unit since I am moving to a new home. The water taste great and is better than bottled water. I signed up for the water for life program when I bought mine 6 years ago and the price never increases. I have had a filter housing crack but Aquasana replaced with no questions ask. Great product, company and customer service.

Comments about Aquasana Premium Under Counter Water Filter - Brushed Nickel:
This is a convenient method of using the filtered wayer system. I've had two taps now. The first one eventually leaked between the stem and cartridge after five years. I decided to replace rather than repair it and the second one leaked in the exact same place within one year. I hope that Aquasana has addressed this issue with a better replacement cartridge to service the problem. I love this product and use it daily.

Comments about Aquasana Premium Under Counter Water Filter - Brushed Nickel:
We're on our second undercounter fixture now. Both times our plumber has installed the unit The first time, the think leaked in waterfalls. I had to send a video of it to Aquasana in order to get a return authorization. The second one leaks also, but nearly as much. After renovations, I'm worn out and cannot deal with another return and paying the plumber a third time. So we're living with it. I just keep a small pail under the counter to catch the leak -- about 1 1/2 cups every 4-5 days. As long as I remember to empty it, we can deal. For the duration, whatever that turns out to be, I've decided to be grateful that I think I'm getting purer water for drinking. Won't buy it again, however.

Comments about Aquasana Premium Under Counter Water Filter - Brushed Nickel:
Houston has some of the worst water in the country and this filter works great improving taste. Also bought it for removing VOCs. A little slower GPM than previous system but it does work at the .4 GPM advertised. I was hoping the comments re continuing to drip when shutoff was incorrect but water continues to flow after shutting off for about 8 seconds. The faucet is better looking than other systems. I would recommend this to a friend.

Used daily. Had installed by a professional. And after 5 months we discovered a leak. This after repairing a major leak and having to take out our RO System (not related to leak), we thought we were past the problems of water leaking under the sink. I think quite possibly we will be buying water from an outside source. Soured on water leaks!!!!! If this product is that unreliable I don't really know where to turn. And it was the best of all the reviews.

The Filter System looks great and easy to install, but my concern is water quality. When I incidentally looked through the glass of filtered water on the light I could observe flying dots. It could be from filter. I would like to hear from other people who have under counter filtration system. Thank you.

Comments about Aquasana Premium Under Counter Water Filter - Brushed Nickel:
The delayed start and stop that I entered in Cons: is because in an effort to make filter replacement easier the system is not under constant pressure. It is pressurized when you turn on the faucet. That being said the reason for the delayed start and stop is trapped air in the system. Another Con is low volume. I have not owned it long enough to comment on filter life.

Comments about Aquasana Premium Under Counter Water Filter - Brushed Nickel:
I had a filter attached to the faucet and it always got in the way and didn't look nice. I installed this system within twenty minutes very simple. This is the only water we drink now. Sure the pressure is slow but that is because the water is going thru a filtering system as to be expected. When filling a coffee pot I simply turn the head put the coffee pot on the counter and while i put the coffee in the pot and get everything ready the pot is full of water. Best system I have ever owned.

The premium under counter drinking water filter comes with a 90-day satisfaction guarantee and a 1-year warranty. (Extended warranty available with Water for Life.)
* NOTICE: This Aquasana filter system can only be used with Aquasana faucets. The faucet included with your system was specifically engineered to relieve the water pressure on the filter unit when not in use. Use of other faucets may cause excess pressure and place undue strain on the filter unit.
1. Do I have to pay for a plumber to install the system? — Our under counter drinking water filter systems are very easy to install, and it only takes a few minutes to do; no plumber is necessary. Check out the installation video. If you have any questions or need assistance, our technical support representatives can walk you through the installation process.
2. How often do I have to replace the cartridges and how much do they cost? — We recommend replacing the cartridges after six months or 500 gallons, whichever comes first. Replacement filters cost $59.99, but you can save 15%, get free shipping, and extend your product warranty by signing up for our no-contract auto-ship filter replacement program, Water for Life.
3. Is this purified water? — No, and actually, purified water is not as healthy as filtered water. Purified water undergoes reverse osmosis or distillation, which strip everything out of your water - not only the contaminants, but also the healthy, natural minerals. Our system uses selective filtration designed to reduce contaminants from the water and leave in the natural healthy minerals like calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
4. How do I recycle the replacement filters? — Our company will recycle the filters for you, but we do not cover the shipping cost to return the filters back to us. In reality, the environmental impact of shipping the filters back to us outweighs the good of recycling. To recycle the AQ-4035 drinking filters yourself, remove the ends of the filters, recycle the plastic parts (which are appropriately numbered) and put the carbon either in your compost pile or garden (carbon is good for plant life), or just throw it out (since the carbon degrades quickly, and is a positive component in a landfill).
5. I'm a renter, so I can't drill or modify the plumbing. What should I do? — To install an under counter system, you can remove the existing sprayer or soap dispenser in your rental and install our faucet in its place. This option will not damage or permanently modify your plumbing. When you move out, you can easily remove the system and reconnect your plumbing back to normal.
6. What is the size of the brass T-fitting for under counter and premium under counter unit? — The most common size is 3/8" inch which originally comes with the system purchase. In rare cases some customers may need a 1/2" inch T-fitting which is sold separately and is available for purchase through technical support.
7. What size hole do I need in my sink for the under counter and premium under counter systems? — 7/8" to 1.5"
8. What does TDS stand for, and what is TDS? — Total Dissolved Solids: dissolved minerals and metals. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals in your water, but are not an accurate measurement for contamination. Aquasana products remove harmful TDS, like dissolved lead and iron, but since our selective filtration leaves in calcium, magnesium and potassium, and minerals are dissolved solids, there will still be a measurable amount of TDS in our filtered water.
9. What is BPA? And why are people concerned about it? — BPA stands for Bisphenol-A, a contaminant found in most plastics. BPA can adversely affect your health if consumed at high levels. Aquasana drinking systems do not contain BPA, and our filtration process reduces existing BPA.
10. Does having hard water mean it is contaminated? — Hard water is more of a nuisance than a health risk, and is not necessarily contaminated. Most water sources in the USA are considered hard. Hard water is generally safe to drink, after it has been properly treated.
11. What is soft water, and is it safe to drink? — Having soft water just means you have a lower concentration of dissolved minerals in the water (primarily calcium and magnesium). Soft water does not mean clean water. Your water can be soft and still contain contaminants.
12. What is selective filtration, and how do Aquasana systems filter drinking water? — Selective filtration is the process of sub-micron filtration, micron filtration, adsorption and ion exchange, all of which selectively reduces chemicals, heavy particulates and most dangerous heavy metals from the water while maintaining healthy minerals like calcium, magnesium and potassium.
13. What is the difference between the under counter and the premium under counter systems? — Just the faucet. The premium under counter faucet has a choice of finishes and a turn valve. The basic under counter faucet only comes in a chrome finish and has a paddle valve.
14. I have an existing side faucet from a previous system. Can I use that with my new Aquasana water filter? — This Aquasana filter system can only be used with Aquasana faucets. The faucet included with your system was specifically engineered to relieve the water pressure on the filter unit when not in use. Use of other faucets may cause excess pressure and place undue strain on the filter unit.
