My personal experience with the pre-filter is that it was easy to install and the water tastes even better now than without it. Even though our water tasted much better when we switched over from a competitor's water filter to the counter top filter from Aquasuana, I still got an after taste from the filtered water. But, since installing the pre-filter, I actually like drinking water again. We change the pre-filter every two months whether it needs it or not. Regarding the New Diverter Hose w/Pre-Filter Assembly; it works more smoothly and appears to be made to a better heavy duty quality than the oringinal faucet adapter. I also like the fact that Aquasauna Filters and accessories are made by an American Company.

For years, I used the regular Aquasana hose with no problem. However, in the past year, our water company has done frequent work in my neighborhood, and I think that's why my water has more sediment lately. After my last set of Aquasana filters clogged fairly quickly because of the sediment, Aquasana recommended this hose assembly to extend the life of my filters. It was easy to install, has not leaked, and catches the sediment. It's been lovely to have normal water flow again, after experiencing seriously reduced flow as my last set of filters clogged up.
