United States Geological Survey – As the sole science agency for the Department of the Interior, this group collects data and provides reliable scientific information. According to their website, “As the Nation’s largest water, earth, and biological science and civilian mapping agency, USGS collects, monitors, analyzes, and provides science about natural resource conditions, issues, and problems.”

United States Public Health Service (HSPHS)

The United States Public Health Service is a military-commissioned corps of highly qualifies health professionals. USPHS officers serve in a number of federal departments, including the National Institute of Public Health (NIH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
