How to Replace the Filters in the Claryum® Countertop
Claryum® Countertop System
Water filters are an effective way to provide your household with healthy, great-tasting water. However, waiting too long to replace your filter can cause your system to stop working, and it may even become a source of bacteria or mold. Prevent filter contamination by replacing it on time.

Get filters auto-delivered right when you need them – plus receive 15% off the price of the replacement filters, free shipping, and an extended warranty on your filtration system. Our no-contract Water for Life® program makes filter replacements simple and cost-effective!
1. Do I have to have a plumber install the system?
Our countertop drinking water filter system is very easy to install, and it only takes a few minutes to do; no plumber is necessary. If you have any questions or need assistance, our technical support representatives at 877-996-2875 can guide you through the installation process. Follow along with our helpful installation video.
2. How do I know if an Aquasana water filter will be compatible with my faucet?
The Claryum® Countertop filter is not compatible with 2-in-1 faucets that have a detachable sprayer at the faucet opening. The Claryum® Countertop will fit most standard faucets and comes with 2 adapters. If your faucet happens to be a non-standard size than the hose connection or adapters that come with unit, you can take your aerator to the plumbing section at your local hardware store and have it measured. After you know the size of your aerator, contact technical support with the size. If we carry the right size adapter, and we will send it to you.
3. I’m a renter, so it’s not an option to drill or modify plumbing. Which water filter should I buy?
The Claryum® Countertop system is perfect for renters because it does not involve drilling or professional installation. To install a countertop system, you attach the unit to your existing faucet. This filter will not damage or permanently modify your plumbing. When you move out, you can easily remove the system and use in your next home or apartment.
4. What size adapters for the diverter hose come with the Claryum® Countertop water filter?
13/16 and 15/16 male.
6. How often do the filters need to be replaced?
We recommend replacing the cartridges after 6 months or 450 gallons, whichever comes first.

7. What is Claryum® technology and what does it do?
Claryum® technology is a selective filtration process that uses sub-micron filtration, micron filtration, and adsorption. Together, these technologies reduce up to 99% of 77 contaminants from water while maintaining healthy minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium.
8. How do I recycle the replacement filters?
Due to the nature of the carbon blocks assembly and the contents of a used filter, the filters cannot be recycled.
9. Is this purified water?
No, this is not purified water, it is filtered water. Purified water undergoes reverse osmosis or distillation, which strips everything out of your water - not only the contaminants, but also the healthy, natural minerals. Our system uses selective filtration designed to reduce contaminants from the water and leave in the natural healthy minerals like calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
10. What does TDS mean?
TDS, or Total Dissolved Solids, is the amount of dissolved minerals and metals present in water. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals but are not an accurate measurement for contamination. Aquasana products reduce and remove harmful TDS like lead, but selectively retain or replace healthy dissolved solids like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Read more about TDS here.
11. What is BPA? Why are people concerned about it?
BPA stands for Bisphenol-A, a contaminant found in most plastics. BPA can adversely affect your health if consumed at high levels. Aquasana drinking systems do not contain BPA, and our filtration process reduces existing BPA.
12. Does having hard water mean it is contaminated?
No, hard water is not always considered contaminated. Most water sources in the USA are considered hard.
13. Is hard water safe to drink?
Hard water can be city water or well water meaning it may or may not be pre-treated. The minerals that make water "hard" are not considered contaminants, but hard water can still contain additional contaminants that are not safe for consumption.
14. What is soft water and how do I know if my home has it?
Soft water is water that has either been treated by a water softener or naturally contains less hard minerals. The most recognizable trait of "soft" water is how much more soap lathers, as opposed to hard water. Soap lathers less due to the higher concentration of minerals. Water softeners reduce the negative effects of dissolved minerals in water that can clump together and produce scale buildup.
15. Does having soft water mean it is clean water?
Soft water does not mean clean water. Your water can be soft and still have contaminants present in the water.
16. Is soft water safe to drink?
Yes, soft water is considered potable. Drinking water from a sodium-based softener increases your daily intake of sodium, which can lead to health problems in sodium-sensitive individuals. Please keep in mind that a water softener is not a water filter. A water softener does not remove contaminants present in your water.
