1. Do I need a plumber to install my Clean Water Machine?
Our Clean Water Machine system is very easy to set up, simply plug in to your nearest electrical outlet. If you have any questions or need assistance, our technical support representatives at 866-662-6885 can guide you through the installation process.
2. How do I know if an Aquasana water filter will be compatible with my faucet?
The Clean Water Machine does not attach to your faucet. The system sits on your countertop and plugs into any two-prong outlet.
3. Which water filter is best for renters and requires no drilling? Can I take the filter with me when I move?
The Clean Water Machine is perfect for renters because it does not involve drilling or professional installation. This system requires no installation and will not damage or permanently modify your plumbing. When you move out, you can easily take the system with you and use in your next home or apartment.
4. How often do the filters need to be replaced?
We recommend replacing the cartridges after 6 months or 300 gallons, whichever comes first.

5. What is Claryum® technology and what does it do?
Claryum® technology is a selective filtration process that uses ion-exchange, absolute sub-micron mechanical filtration, catalytic carbon, and activated carbon. Together, these technologies reduce up to 99% of 78 contaminants while maintaining healthy minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium.
6. Can I recycle my water filter?
Due to the nature of the carbon block's assembly and the contents of a used filter, the filters cannot be recycled.
7. Is this purified water?
No, this is not purified water, it is filtered water. Purified water undergoes reverse osmosis or distillation, which strips everything out of your water - not only the contaminants, but also the healthy, natural minerals. Our system uses selective filtration designed to reduce contaminants from the water and leave in the natural healthy minerals like calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
8. What is BPA? Why are people concerned about it?
BPA stands for Bisphenol-A, a contaminant found in most plastics. BPA can adversely affect your health if consumed at high levels. Aquasana drinking systems do not contain BPA, and our filtration process reduces existing BPA.
9. What does Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) mean?
TDS, or Total Dissolved Solids, is the amount of dissolved minerals and metals present in water. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals but are not an accurate measurement for contamination. Aquasana products reduce and remove harmful TDS like lead, but selectively retain or replace healthy dissolved solids like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Read more about TDS here.
11. Is it normal for my Clean Water Machine to drip from the spout?
Yes, a few drips of water is normal after finishing a filtration cycle. When filtering water with your Clean Water Machine, water that has been pushed up by the pump can store in the chamber and will be quickly released after the pump has finished. Additionally, dripping water can be caused by the filter cartridge not being fully saturated – in which case you would simply run another tank of water through the unit.
12. Is it normal for my Clean Water Machine to make noise?
You can expect a quiet hum from your Clean Water Machine. This noise is the pump powering your water through a patented Claryum® cartridge to reduce the maximum number of contaminants.
