How to read a Performance Data Sheet
After you’ve located a water filter’s performance data sheet on the manufacturer’s website, there are a few key pieces to look for. The most important is a seal or badge from a testing agency. Next to the seal will be certification and testing context, explaining what NSF Standards the system was tested against.
The second important piece of information in a performance data sheet is the actual performance of the system tested against the test agency’s parameters. Each NSF Standard the system is tested against should have its own section, showing the reduction percentage against a contaminant.
