Rated 5 out of 5 by from The taste! The water tastes amazing and has the right Ph. Reverse osmosis uses more water but I use this for drinking only. The water spicket is on my sink and comes out fast even though it’s small. The water replenishes quickly. Worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome. Awesome system. I'm really proud of the nsf cert for pfas. Only issue I had was a slow leak on stage 3 that seemed to clear up after breaking the unit in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chlorine and contaminate free great tasting water Really enjoying having convenient, contaminate free water. The water in my city is heavily treated with chlorine and frequent boil water advisories for low water pressure: it is such a treat to not have to worry about contaminated water and not have to lug jugs of water from the store and feel bad about my plastics use. Set up took some time, but very doable without a plumber with some patience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Major Improvement in our Quality of Life Due to health concerns, we have been distilling our water for the past couple of years. That process strips the water of all of its mineral content and leaves it tasting very flat. Between the space the distiller required on the countertop, the perpetual cleaning required in order to ensure its performance and the noise it produced when in operation, there was plenty of room for improvement. The OptimH2O has provided us with great tasting water in a super convenient package. No complaints here; just plenty of praise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great support, easy installation. I called support before starting the install, because I had a question about the drain connection. The CS agent first thanked me for calling BEFORE something went wrong. I sent him a picture of my under sink. The agent walked me through the process and answered all my questions. The instructions (manual) were clear and easy to follow. My filter system was installed in 3 hours and producing great tasting water the next day.

So its been about 2 months only use for coffee pot 12cup and it barely fills it up this am it basically stopped at 6 cups and just dribble usually it only does that after getting 12 cups

Asked by: mountainfox
I have city water and I've never had a problem with pressure or filling anything. I don't fill a 12 cup pot but I don't think I would have a problem doing that.

?How much does the product weigh

Asked by: kuzama
There would actually be 2 different weights. Dry shipping weight around 15 pounds or less. Installed wet weight the filter assembly is about 10 pounds and the tank will be about 25 pounds.

Can I mount the RO system and tank in the basement below kitchen sink and approx. 15 ft. away without having to install a pump ?

Asked by: Dave c
My experience with an RO system says "yes", but your circumstances may be different. I ran a hose to the refrigerator water dispenser. The hose drops from the sink into the basement, crosses over and comes up behind the fridge. That amounts to about 18ft. of 1/2" poly tubing. It works great.

can the system be installed in the basement directly below the kitchen sink an run the water lines up to the sink

Asked by: kenzo
i think you would have to buy different water lines. It is a small system made for under the sink. I wouldn't recommend this for under the sink though. It refills the reservoir often and is noisy. we had several water leaks from the faucet it comes with. my husband installed it, but he is an aircraft mechanic and did it correctly. it is a poor design. we should have gotten the entire house RO system to be installed in the basement.

What size hole do i need to drill into my countertop?

Asked by: homer
Hello Homer, Thank you for your question. You will need a sink top hole 1" in diameter. If drilling a new hole, ensure the faucet body will mount flat against the surface and that there is sufficient tubing between the faucet body and system manifold. NOTE: Drilling holes into solid surfaces or surfaces made of stone should only be performed by a qualified and certified installer. If you have any questions or concerns, you may also contact us directly at 866-662-6885, Monday thru Friday from 8 am-6 pm CST, and weekends from 9 am-5 pm CST. -Aquasana

FAQ
Aquasana FAQs
1. Do I need a plumber to install the system?
Depending on your skills and experience, we recommend hiring a professional to install your reverse osmosis system. Installation does require drilling into your pipes, which is not recommended for individuals unfamiliar with plumbing and permanent appliance installation. Please read through the owner's manual carefully before attempting to install the system. If you have any questions or need assistance, our technical support representatives at 877-996-2875 can guide you through the installation process. Or, follow along with our installation video.
Drilling into your water pipes is required to install the Aquasana OptimH2O® Reverse Osmosis +Claryum® filter. For an easy installation that requires zero drilling, we recommend our Claryum® Direct Connect filter. This DIY install filter connects directly to your cold water line. So, no drilling or altering your plumbing is required. Aquasana also has two countertop options that offer the same professional grade filtration as our under sink options, the Clean Water Machine or the Claryum® Countertop.
The faucet included with the Aquasana OptimH2O® Reverse Osmosis + Claryum® is expertly designed to work with our reverse osmosis system. Any other Aquasana faucet or faucet from another filtration system not designed to work with a reverse osmosis system will not be compatible with the Aquasana OptimH2O® Reverse Osmosis + Claryum® and may cause damage to your filtration system. If you choose to use another reverse osmosis air gap faucet, we recommend you seek the help of a plumber to ensure proper installation.
When R.O. membranes are manufactured, there is a preservative used to protect the membrane fibers from damage. This preservative needs to be flushed out after the system is installed and prior to drinking water from the RO system. In addition, the R.O. holding tank should be sanitized with a drop of bleach during the install. It is important to flush the system for the entire 24 hours during the initial install to ensure all the bleach from the holding tank is washed away before consumption.

Stage 1 (Carbon) and Stage 3 (Claryum) filter cartridges should be replaced every 6 months or up to 365 gallons. Stage 2 (R.O. Membrane) should be replaced every 12 months depending on usage and water quality. For homes with higher water usage and/or poorer water quality, you may need to replace your R.O. Membrane sooner than every 12 months. Stage 4 (Remineralizer) should be replaced every 12 months depending on usage and water quality.

To eliminate the hassle of knowing when to replace your filter, sign up for our Water for Life auto-ship program. Get free shipping, discounts on filter replacements, and an extended product warranty by joining Water for Life.

Yes. The Aquasana OptimH2O® Reverse Osmosis + Claryum® is NSF tested and certified to reduce over 97% of arsenic from your drinking water.
The total volume of the holding tank is 3.2 gallons. Volume is based on your inlet water pressure. So, the gallons in the tank can vary from 1.4-3.2 gallons at any given time.
The OptimH2O® Reverse Osmosis + Claryum® Under Sink Water Filter flows at a rate of 0.5 gpm (gallons per minute).

Reverse osmosis is an incredibly effective method of filtering water, and it essentially works by pushing water through a semi-permeable membrane (a porous block) at a high pressure to remove contaminants. As this pressurized water passes through the membrane, contaminants are left behind and only clean water passes through. For example, saltwater can be desalinized through reverse osmosis because the salt molecules will be left as water passes through the membrane.

Our reverse osmosis system uses this process in conjunction with a series of other filters to increase effectiveness and retain healthy minerals that are often lost during the RO process. Water first passes through our activated carbon filter to remove chemicals including herbicides and pesticides, then the system uses reverse osmosis filtration by pushing water through a semi-permeable membrane at a high pressure to remove dissolved solids smaller than 1 micron. Next, our Claryum® filter uses ion exchange and sub-micron filtration to remove heavy metals and other contaminants. Finally, our RO system uses remineralization technology to restore healthy minerals like calcium while improving the pH balance and alkalinity of water for exceptional taste.

Yes. The Aquasana OptimH2O® Reverse Osmosis + Claryum® uses reverse osmosis to effectively purify your drinking water. In addition to reverse osmosis, the OptimH2O system also uses selective filtration to reduce over 70 other contaminants, plus includes a remineralizer designed to put back healthy minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium that are removed in the reverse osmosis process.

TDS, or Total Dissolved Solids, is the amount of dissolved minerals and metals present in water. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals but are not an accurate measurement for contamination. Aquasana products reduce and remove harmful TDS like lead, but selectively retain or replace healthy dissolved solids like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Read more about TDS here.

Aquasana OptimH2O® Reverse Osmosis + Claryum® comes standard with a 12-month remineralizer designed to replace healthy calcium, magnesium, and potassium lost in the reverse osmosis process.

Using a reverse osmosis water filter is a great way to remove harmful contaminants like lead, mercury, asbestos, and other impurities that have a range of health concerns. However, it’s important to note that the reverse osmosis process also tends to remove healthy minerals from your water as well, such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. To ensure you get the maximum health benefits from your water, make sure to use a filter that has a remineralizer, which restores the healthy minerals lost during reverse osmosis.
