This is the perfect faucet-filter solution if you live in an apartment or rent a room/house. This filter is so amazingly easy to install, I don't believe I had to use any tools, not even a wrench!

The AQ-4000 Aquasana countertop water filter, featuring NSF-certified Claryum™ three-stage filtration, is the most economical way to get clean, crisp, healthy water for your family.

Remove pollutants, maintain healthy minerals
Our unique twin cartridge, three-stage filtration system uses a combination of carbon filtration, ion exchange, and sub-micron filtration. Your tap water is forced under pressure over filtration material covering more than two million square feet of surface area. So it reduces over three times more contaminants than leading pitcher filter brands.
Cartridge A
-
Filters sediment and turbidity
- Reduces microscopic particles
- Improves taste
- Greatly reduces odor
-
Filters chlorine
- Chlorine is the most concentrated and competitive chemical in tap water
Cartridge B
-
Filters lead and mercury
- Ion exchange reduces heavy metals
- Maintains pH levels
- Improves taste
-
Filters synthetic chemicals
- Herbicides
- Pesticides
- Industrial solvents
-
.5-micron absolute filtration
- Removes cysts
Your water becomes contaminated from a variety of sources throughout the process of collection, treatment and delivery. From groundwater contamination at the source to chemical contamination at the treatment facility to rust and lead contamination as the treated water travels through pipes to your home, the water you drink and bathe in can contain dangerous levels of harmful contamination. This continuing level of contamination makes filtering your water a critical component of maintaining your health. With the AQ-4000 Countertop water filter, Aquasana Claryum™ filtration technology stands between you and the harmful contamination present in your water supply.

NSF-certified Aquasana Claryum™ filtration features three-stage technology to reduce pollutants and maintain healthy minerals to balance pH and ensure fresh, spring water flavor.
We reduce over 50 commonly occurring contaminants including:

We had this filter for a little over a month now. The water taste excellent and don't have a problem with the slow fill or anything. I'm thinking it's because we have high water pressure, but it filters out the chlorine plus other impurities than the Brita, Bobble, and even Pur that we had. Overall, our house hold is drinking more water which is better for us. We definitely recommend this to anyone who wants an excellent filter while saving on cost.

Comments about Aquasana Countertop Water Filter - Brushed:
Handy to use. Works great - the water tastes like water. Period. I did a LOT of research and comparison shopping for filters. This one has great specs and is very affordable. I guess some folks can gripe at little things, but here is reality: A lot of the filters out there don't remove as much as this one, and if they do, they cost several times more. It gives me good water at a fair price. That is hard to beat. And to top it off, they have great service.

Comments about Aquasana Countertop Water Filter - Brushed:
I hooked this up on 2/1/13 and CANNOT BE HAPPIER(easy as can be - didn't even need tools)!! We were buying 5 gallon bottles water form a health store because it was more affordable than having it delivered, but got so tired of having to run out and get water all the time - we drink a lot of water.
This water filter rocks!! The water tastes so pure and clean. Plus we are saving a lot of money and time not buying the 5 gallon water jugs (since we had to pick them up)! This filter will pay for itself in 5 weeks, based on what we were paying for the 5 gallon jugs, and I don't have to replace it but every 6 months!! The other bonus is that the water is not acidic like reverse osmosis and distilled - I would have regular heartburn driking these types of water.
Highly, highly recommend!!!

Comments about Aquasana Countertop Water Filter - Brushed:
I've had this product for over a year now and the water flow has never gone above a drip. I called the assistance line once and they recommended taking the filters out and putting them back in, which made no difference. The person on the phone then said they didn't have any other solutions. I haven't had time to deal with it so I've just continued using a pitcher filter since I don't have all day to leave a container under the filter faucet to collect enough water to be usable. I finally went to change the filters today to see if that would solve the problem, and I cannot get the A filter out. There's a recommendation to use the B filter to loosen it, which I've done, and even tried pliers, but half an hour and three cuts from the sharp edges of the casing later, it is still stuck. I was considering getting a shower filter because the water in my building is so bad, but if this is the quality I can expect I won't be purchasing another product.

Increased water flow makes it perfect!

Comments about Aquasana Countertop Water Filter - Brushed:
I've used the countertop filter for the past 5-6 years and have loved it for the great tasting water it produces. More recently, I moved into a house that uses some of the hardest well water in the country. I continued using my countertop filter and ordered a shower filter for this new location. I have loved them both since I began using them but notice a change in the last set of filters I received. It seems that there is an increase in the velocity of the water flow through both. Just in case you made a change in the filter that caused this, I want to say thank you. The reduced water flow was the only flaw I found in the filters of the past and now they are absolutely perfect. I appreciate the work you do to give use access to clean, safe water. You're the BEST!

A Must-Buy!

Comments about Aquasana Countertop Water Filter - Brushed:
+ Taste really great. As good or BETTER than bottled water!
+ Very cost effective (can't beat 10¢ per gallon).
+ One filter lasted for a full year!
+ Cut back on approx. 864 plastic water bottles per year!
I easily get very nauseous from unclean water so I was afraid that this filter wouldn't work well enough for me. I used to have a bit of a phobia of drinking from the tap so previous water filters never worked for me since it still tasted like tap afterwards. Fortunately I was wrong about the Aquasana filter! This filter is really amazing! The water quality is unbelievable, it tastes very clean and I don't get sick from it. I really enjoy this water.
I use the filtered water for myself and for my dog. Occasionally others will use it but the one filter lasted me over a full year. I have cut down on the amount of plastic water bottles I used to buy, and have drank more water since I bought this system. I used to buy 24+ cases of water bottles per year. Now I'm buy between 0-1 case a year.
Some people have complained that the pour is "too slow". I don't see this as a real "con" as it only takes a few SECONDS to fill a tall glass. The only reason why this might be a negative is if I'm rushing to work and wanted to fill a bottle of water as an afterthought. In that case, I would just fill the water the night before in anticipation. This certainly should not be a reason to dissuade you from buying this filter.
I definitely recommend this Aquasana countertop filter, and any other Aquasana product. Their filters are amazing! I bought one for my dad. It's a great gift for someone you care about.

The countertop drinking water filter comes with a 90-day satisfaction guarantee and a 1-year warranty. (Extended warranty available with Water for Life.)

Click here to view our under counter mounted solutions.
1. Do I have to pay for a plumber to install the system? — Our countertop drinking water filter system is very easy to install, and it only takes a few minutes to do; no plumber is necessary. If you have any questions or need assistance, our technical support representatives can walk you through the installation process.
2. How often do I have to replace the cartridges and how much do they cost? — We recommend replacing the cartridges after six months or 500 gallons, whichever comes first. Replacement filters cost $59.99, but you can save 15%, get free shipping, and extend your product warranty by signing up for our no-contract auto-ship filter replacement program, Water for Life.
3. Is this purified water? — No, and actually, purified water is not as healthy as filtered water. Purified water undergoes reverse osmosis or distillation, which strip everything out of your water - not only the contaminants, but also the healthy, natural minerals. Our system uses selective filtration designed to reduce contaminants from the water and leave in the natural healthy minerals like calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
4. How do I recycle the replacement filters? — Our company will recycle the filters for you, but we do not cover the shipping cost to return the filters back to us. In reality, the environmental impact of shipping the filters back to us outweighs the good of recycling. To recycle the AQ-4035 drinking filters yourself, remove the ends of the filters, recycle the plastic parts (which are appropriately numbered) and put the carbon either in your compost pile or garden (carbon is good for plant life), or just throw it out (since the carbon degrades quickly, and is a positive component in a landfill).
5. I'm a renter, so I can't drill or modify the plumbing. Which filter system should I get? — The countertop system is perfect for renters because it does not require a new hole in the counter. To install an under counter system, you can remove the existing sprayer or soap dispenser in your rental and install our faucet in its place. This option will not damage or permanently modify your plumbing. When you move out, you can easily remove the system and reconnect your plumbing back to normal.
6. What size adapters do you send with the countertop system (for the diverter hose)? — 13/16 and 15/16 male.
7. What size is the chrome collar on the countertop system (on the diverter hose)? — 55/64-27 female.
8. What does TDS stand for, and what is TDS? — Total Dissolved Solids: dissolved minerals and metals. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals in your water, but are not an accurate measurement for contamination. Aquasana products remove harmful TDS, like dissolved lead and iron, but since our selective filtration leaves in calcium, magnesium and potassium, and minerals are dissolved solids, there will still be a measurable amount of TDS in our filtered water.
9. What is BPA? And why are people concerned about it? — BPA stands for Bisphenol-A, a contaminant found in most plastics. BPA can adversely affect your health if consumed at high levels. Aquasana drinking systems do not contain BPA, and our filtration process reduces existing BPA.
10. Does having hard water mean it is contaminated? — Hard water is more of a nuisance than a health risk, and is not necessarily contaminated. Most water sources in the USA are considered hard. Hard water is generally safe to drink, after it has been properly treated.
11. What is soft water, and is it safe to drink? — Having soft water just means you have a lower concentration of dissolved minerals in the water (primarily calcium and magnesium). Soft water does not mean clean water. Your water can be soft and still contain contaminants.
12. What is selective filtration, and how do Aquasana systems filter drinking water? — Selective filtration is the process of sub-micron filtration, micron filtration, adsorption and ion exchange, all of which selectively reduces chemicals, heavy particulates and most dangerous heavy metals from the water while maintaining healthy minerals like calcium, magnesium and potassium.
13. How do I know if an Aquasana system will be compatible with my faucet? — The only faucets the AQ-4000 water filtration system will not be compatible with are the 2-in-1 faucets that have a detachable sprayer at the faucet opening. The AQ-4000 will fit most standard faucets and also comes with two adapters. If your faucet happens to be a non-standard size than the hose connection or adapters that come with unit, you can take your aerator to the plumbing section at your local hardware store and have it measured. After you know the size of your aerator, contact technical support with the size and we will see if we carry the right size adapter, and we will send it to you.
