Pure Performance

Maintain the highest level of filtration performance with the genuine Aquasana HealthShield™ RO Membrane Replacement.

As the core purification stage of the HealthShield™ Reverse Osmosis System, the RO membrane helps reduce dissolved solids and microscopic contaminants through a highly effective reverse osmosis process. Working alongside the Stage 1 Claryum® Filter, it helps deliver cleaner, healthier, great-tasting water directly from your tap.

This high-performance membrane supports reduction of contaminants commonly targeted by reverse osmosis systems, including fluoride, arsenic, PFAS*, microplastics, and additional dissolved impurities that may affect water quality.

Replacing your membrane on schedule helps ensure optimal performance, efficient operation, and continued confidence in every glass. For the best results, always use genuine Aquasana HealthShield™ replacement filters.

FAQ
Aquasana FAQs
1. Do I need a plumber to replace this filter?
Our replacement filters are designed for easy replacements — no plumber required. Please read through the owner's manual carefully before attempting to replace your filters and/or review the product replacement video. If you have any questions or need assistance, our technical support representatives at 866-662-6885 can walk you through the installation process.

Stage 1 (Claryum® filter) should be replaced every 6 months or up to 320 gallons. Stage 2 (Reverse Osmosis membrane) should be replaced every 12 months depending on usage and water quality. For homes with higher water usage and/or poorer water quality, you may need to replace your RO Membrane sooner than every 12 months.

The front facing indicators on your system will let you know exactly when it's time to replace your filters.

The HealthShield™ Reverse Osmosis system features front-facing indicator lights that let you know when it's time to replace a filter. The indicator identifies when the Stage 1 Claryum® Filter or Stage 2 Reverse Osmosis Membrane has reached the end of its service life, eliminating the guesswork of filter maintenance.
No. Each filter has a different service life and should be replaced according to the recommended schedule. Stage 1 Claryum® Filter should be replaced every 6 months or up to 320 gallons, while the Stage 2 RO Membrane typically lasts 12 months, depending on water quality and usage.
Using filters beyond their recommended service life may reduce filtration performance and water quality. Replacing your filters on schedule helps ensure your HealthShield™ Reverse Osmosis system continues to deliver optimal contaminant reduction, system performance, and great-tasting water.
Yes. Following installation, the replacement filter should be flushed according to the instructions in the owner's manual before drinking the filtered water. Flushing helps remove any carbon fines and prepares the filter for normal operation.
Cloudy water after a filter replacement is normal and is typically caused by tiny air bubbles released during the installation process or carbon fines from a new filter. The cloudiness is harmless and should clear with normal use and the recommended flushing procedure.
A slight change in taste immediately after installation is normal as the new filter becomes fully conditioned. Following the recommended flush procedure will help the system reach normal operating performance more quickly.
For continued system performance and contaminant reduction, Aquasana recommends using only genuine Aquasana HealthShield™ replacement filters. Genuine replacements are designed specifically for your system and help maintain the performance the system was designed to deliver.
The HealthShield™ Reverse Osmosis system features easy twist-and-replace cartridges designed for quick, tool-free maintenance. Most homeowners can complete the replacement process in just a few minutes.
If your filter has reached the end of its service life, replacing it may help restore optimal system performance and water flow. Water quality, source water conditions, and overall system maintenance can also affect flow rate.
Yes. The HealthShield™ Reverse Osmosis is IAPMO certified to reduce 97.51% of fluoride from your drinking water.
Yes. The Aquasana HealthShield™ Reverse Osmosis system is IAPMO certified to reduce 96.4% of pentavalent arsenic from your drinking water. It will not convert trivalent arsenic to pentavalent arsenic.
Yes. The HealthShield™ Reverse Osmosis system is IAPMO certified to reduce 99.6% of PFAS* from drinking water. Reverse osmosis technology, combined with Aquasana's Claryum® filtration, helps reduce a broad range of contaminants, including PFAS* "Forever Chemicals."
The HealthShield™ Reverse Osmosis Under Sink Water Filter flows at a rate of 0.56 gpm (gallons per minute).

Reverse osmosis is an incredibly effective method of filtering water, and it works by pushing water through a semi-permeable membrane (a porous block) at a high pressure to remove contaminants. As this pressurized water passes through the membrane, contaminants are left behind and only clean water passes through

Our reverse osmosis system uses a multi-stage filtration process for comprehensive water treatment. First, a built-in pre-filter reduces chlorine and sediment. Next, the RO membrane targets dissolved solids and microscopic contaminants. Finally, an Aquasana Claryum® post-filter enhances taste and odor while providing additional contaminant reduction before the water reaches your dedicated faucet.

TDS, or Total Dissolved Solids, is the amount of dissolved minerals and metals present in water. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals, but they are not an accurate measurement for contamination. Aquasana products reduce and remove harmful TDS like lead.

Using a reverse osmosis water filter is a great way to remove harmful contaminants like lead, mercury, asbestos, and other impurities that have a range of health concerns.
