Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Install and Tasty Water Pros: 1) Install took less than an hour (including cleaning under the sink). 2) Simple installation. 3) Compact design leaves plenty of space for other stuff under the sink. 4) Water tastes great. 5) Plenty fast flow. Cons: 1) Used Amazon Pay option at check-out, which added an extra several days to process for some reason. 2) The counter flashing for the spout is juuuuust big enough to cover the existing hole, so we had to do some precision work when tightening the fitting down to make sure there was no gap visible. They should consider providing one that's a little extra larger in diameter to make the install even easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I have been using Aquasana products for years and am completely pleased at there water purifying 2 stage under counter filter. The faucet I currently started to drip after two years and the replacement was a breeze to install. You should be quite agile to fit under the sink and other obstacles like garbage disposals plumbing pipes make it a challenge but definitely doable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-designed systems! From beginning to end, Aquasana's products have been a pleasure to purchase. I decided to buy the 2-stage filter based on estimating the amount of water we use (two of us in a household). It does appear that every 6 months is about the right time period in which we will use most of the capacity of the filters, so I signed up for the "filters for life" automatic order program. This will be a welcome saving of time and hassle over searching for and ordering pitcher filters. The installation really was easy. It took me about an hour total, including locating tools and uninstalling a spray hose. (Because of our faucet's design, I had to leave the spray hose installed under the sink, laying in a bucket in case it leaks.) I like the improved "twist-lock" design of the new filter cartridges. In our last house, we had an older Aquasana system with threaded cartridges, which tended to get stuck. The new design is much easier to remove and install. Flow rate at the tap is good - it takes perhaps 3-4 seconds to fill a glass of water and 40 seconds to fill a tea kettle. Before buying this system, we were not using filtered water from the pitcher; we were wasting lots of tap water waiting to flush the pipes. So the new system is not only filtering more pollutants, but saving water as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from install Install can and should be easy.. loved the you tube video. The water connections were easy. Having a garbage disposal there wasn't. Reach to tightened the nut for the faucet was stretching myself to the limits. I unknowingly loosened a pipe while I was there... hilarity ensued.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice compact unit Great unit for my mountain cabin, fits under small kitchen sink space. Local city well water tastes much better without chlorine or other contaminates. Price is right and installation was easy. One of the swivel hose connecters was difficult to tighten so replaced with one from hardware store. Water flow is a little slow, but not a problem.

After changing the filters we has a few seconds of blue colour water. I shut the tap off, and removed the filter and inspected all looked ok, so I reassembled. Is it normal to have this happen. AQ-5200R Thanks R

What is the flow rate (GPM) on the 2-stage under counter filter?

Asked by: Stingray Al
That is  a hard question to answer. Depends on your water pressure thats coming in to the house. Not every house is set to the same pressure. the best way to answer your question is that you should be getting between a 1 to 2 gal a min.

FAQ
Aquasana FAQs
1. Do I have to pay for a plumber to install the system?
Our under sink drinking water filter systems are easy to install, and a plumber is not required. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call our Customer Support line at 877-996-2875. Or, follow the link below to our installation videos:
Claryum® 2-Stage and 3-Stage
Claryum® 3-Stage Max Flow
To install an under sink system, you can remove the existing sprayer or soap dispenser on your sink and install our faucet in its place. This option will not damage or permanently modify your plumbing. When you move out, you can easily remove the system and reconnect the plumbing back to normal. If you do not have an existing hole in your sink from a sprayer or soap dispenser, we recommend one of our countertop units, the Clean Water Machine or Claryum® Countertop. For an easy DIY under sink filter, our Claryum® Direct Connect attaches directly to your cold water line for clean, healthy water straight from your existing faucet.
The T-fitting supplied with our under sink systems is 3/8”.
The faucet that is included with our systems requires a 1/2" hole.
All Aquasana drinking water systems use the same patented Claryum® filtration technology. The difference between the under sink systems is the capacity and performance level.
Claryum® 2-Stage: 500 gallon capacity or up to 6 months.
Claryum® 3-Stage: 600 gallon capacity or up to 6 months. Includes 20 micron Pre-Filter.
Claryum® 3-Stage Max Flow: 800 gallons or up to 6 months. Includes Pre-Filter and a 44% increased flow rate.
Claryum Direct Connect: 784 gallons or up to 6 months.
We recommend changing the filter cartridges every 3 to 6 months, depending upon the specific filter gallon capacity. Regularly changing the filters prevents the growth of bacteria in the system and continues to deliver clean, healthy water. The filter capacity varies between each system:
Claryum® 2-Stage: 500 gallon capacity
Claryum® 3-Stage: 600 gallon capacity
Claryum® 3-Stage Max Flow: 800 gallon capacity
Claryum Direct Connect: 784 gallon capacity
To eliminate the hassle of remembering when to change your water filter, sign up for our auto-ship program, Water for Life®. Our no-contract program saves you 15% on filters, includes free shipping, extends your filter warranty.
Claryum® technology is a selective filtration process that uses sub-micron filtration, micron filtration, and adsorption. Together, these technologies reduce up to 99% of 77 contaminants from water while maintaining healthy minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium.
We recommend that you use the faucet provided with your purchase. We have extensively tested the system with the faucets included. The faucets are NSF tested and certified to contain no lead. In addition, they will not impart any unwanted chemicals into your water. If you choose to use another faucet, we recommend that you have a plumber install the system to ensure no leakage occurs. We also recommend that you install an NSF Certified faucet to ensure the health benefits of your new Aquasana water filter.
Due to the nature of the carbon blocks assembly and the contents of a used filter, the filters cannot be recycled.
No, this is not purified water, it is filtered water. Purified water undergoes reverse osmosis or distillation, which strips everything out of your water - not only the contaminants, but also the healthy, natural minerals. Our systems use selective filtration designed to reduce contaminants from the water and leave in the natural healthy minerals like calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
TDS, or Total Dissolved Solids, is the amount of dissolved minerals and metals present in water. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals but are not an accurate measurement for contamination. Aquasana products reduce and remove harmful TDS like lead, but selectively retain or replace healthy dissolved solids like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Read more about TDS here.
BPA stands for Bisphenol-A, a contaminant found in most plastics. BPA can adversely affect your health if consumed at high levels. Aquasana drinking systems do not contain BPA, and our filtration process reduces existing BPA.
No, hard water is not always considered contaminated. Most water sources in the USA are considered hard.
Hard water can be city water or well water meaning it may or may not be pre-treated. The minerals that make water "hard" are not considered contaminants, but hard water can still contain additional contaminants that are not safe for consumption.
Soft water is water that has either been treated by a water softener or naturally contains less hard minerals. The most recognizable trait of "soft" water is how much more soap lathers, as opposed to hard water.  Soap lathers less due to the higher concentration of minerals. Water softeners reduce the negative effects of dissolved minerals in water that can clump together and produce scale buildup.
Soft water does not mean clean water. Your water can be soft and still have contaminants present in the water.
Yes, soft water is considered potable. Drinking water from a sodium-based softener increases your daily intake of sodium, which can lead to health problems in sodium-sensitive individuals. Please keep in mind that a water softener is not a water filter. A water softener does not remove contaminants present in your water.
