How to Replace the Filters in the Claryum® 3-Stage Max Flow
Claryum® 3-Stage Max Flow
Need a replacement filter?
Water filters are an effective way to provide your household with healthy, great-tasting water. However, waiting too long to replace your filter can cause your system to stop working, and it may even become a source of bacteria or mold. Prevent filter contamination by replacing it on time.
Get filters auto-delivered right when you need them — plus receive 15% off the price of replacement filters, free shipping, and an extended limited warranty on your filtration system. Protect your investment and save money with our no-contract Water for Life® program.
1. Do I have to pay for a plumber to install the system?
Our under sink drinking water filter systems are easy to install, and a plumber is not required. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call our Customer Support line at 866-662-6885. Or, follow the link below to our installation videos:
• Claryum® 2-Stage and 3-Stage
• Claryum® 3-Stage Max Flow
• Claryum® 2-Stage and 3-Stage
• Claryum® 3-Stage Max Flow
2. I’m a renter so I can’t drill or modify my plumbing. What should I do?
To install an under sink system, you can remove the existing sprayer or soap dispenser on your sink and install our faucet in its place. This option will not damage or permanently modify your plumbing. When you move out, you can easily remove the system and reconnect the plumbing back to normal. If you do not have an existing hole in your sink from a sprayer or soap dispenser, we recommend our countertop unit, the Clean Water Machine. For an easy DIY under sink filter, our Claryum® Direct Connect attaches directly to your cold water line for clean, healthy water straight from your existing faucet.
3. What is the size of the brass t-fitting for the under sink systems?
The T-fitting supplied with our under sink systems is 3/8”.
4. What size faucet hole do I need in my sink for the under sink systems?
The faucet that is included with our systems requires a 1/2" hole.
5. What is the difference between the 2-Stage, 3-Stage, and 3-Stage Max Flow?
All Aquasana drinking water systems use the same patented Claryum® filtration technology. The difference between the under sink systems is the capacity and performance level.
• Claryum® 2-Stage: 500 gallon capacity or up to 6 months.
• Claryum® 3-Stage: 600 gallon capacity or up to 6 months. Includes 20 micron Pre-Filter.
• Claryum® 3-Stage Max Flow: 800 gallons or up to 6 months. Includes Pre-Filter and a 44% increased flow rate.
• Claryum® Direct Connect: 784 gallons or up to 6 months.
6. How often do I have to replace the filters and how much do they cost?
We recommend changing the filter cartridges every 3 to 6 months, depending upon the specific filter gallon capacity. Regularly changing the filters prevents the growth of bacteria in the system and continues to deliver clean, healthy water. The filter capacity varies between each system:
• Claryum® 2-Stage: 500 gallon capacity
• Claryum® 3-Stage: 600 gallon capacity
• Claryum® 3-Stage Max Flow: 800 gallon capacity
• Claryum® Direct Connect: 784 gallon capacity

7. What is Claryum® technology and what does it do?
Claryum® technology is a selective filtration process that uses sub-micron filtration, micron filtration, and adsorption. Together, these technologies reduce up to 99% of 78 contaminants while maintaining healthy minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium.
8. I have an existing dedicated faucet from a previous system. Can I use that with my new Aquasana water filter?
We recommend that you use the faucet provided with your purchase. We have extensively tested the system with the faucets included. The faucets are NSF tested and certified to contain no lead. In addition, they will not impart any unwanted chemicals into your water. If you choose to use another faucet, we recommend that you have a plumber install the system to ensure no leakage occurs. We also recommend that you install an NSF Certified faucet to ensure the health benefits of your new Aquasana water filter.
9. How do I recycle the replacement filters?
Due to the nature of the carbon block's assembly and the contents of a used filter, the filters cannot be recycled.
10. Is this purified water?
No, this is not purified water, it is filtered water. Purified water undergoes reverse osmosis or distillation, which strips everything out of your water - not only the contaminants, but also the healthy, natural minerals. Our systems use selective filtration designed to reduce contaminants from the water and leave in the natural healthy minerals like calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
11. What does TDS mean?
TDS, or Total Dissolved Solids, is the amount of dissolved minerals and metals present in water. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals but are not an accurate measurement for contamination. Aquasana products reduce and remove harmful TDS like lead, but selectively retain or replace healthy dissolved solids like calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Read more about TDS here.
12. What is BPA? Why are people concerned about it?
BPA stands for Bisphenol-A, a contaminant found in most plastics. BPA can adversely affect your health if consumed at high levels. Aquasana drinking systems do not contain BPA, and our filtration process reduces existing BPA.
13. Does having hard water mean it is contaminated?
No, hard water is not always considered contaminated. Most water sources in the USA are considered hard.
14. Is hard water safe to drink?
Hard water can be city water or well water meaning it may or may not be pre-treated. The minerals that make water "hard" are not considered contaminants, but hard water can still contain additional contaminants that are not safe for consumption.
15. What is soft water and how do I know if my home has it?
Soft water is water that has either been treated by a water softener or naturally contains less hard minerals. The most recognizable trait of "soft" water is how much more soap lathers, as opposed to hard water. Soap lathers less due to the higher concentration of minerals. Water softeners reduce the negative effects of dissolved minerals in water that can clump together and produce scale buildup.
16. Does having soft water mean it is clean water?
Soft water does not mean clean water. Your water can be soft and still have contaminants present in the water.
17. Is soft water safe to drink?
Yes, soft water is considered potable. Drinking water from a sodium-based softener increases your daily intake of sodium, which can lead to health problems in sodium-sensitive individuals. Please keep in mind that a water softener is not a water filter. A water softener does not remove contaminants present in your water.
